Mülheim Theatre Days. Translations of plays. Workshop led by Radka Denemarková.
Since 1976, seven to eight new German-language plays, usually in the production of the world premiere, have been shown at the Mülheim Theatre Days every year in May and June and judged by a jury and the audience. Here – uniquely in Germany – the focus is not on the production but on the play itself. The aim is to promote contemporary German-language drama.
In order to intensify the discourse on the meaning of theatre texts and current issues in translation work, the Goethe-Institut also awards a scholarship for an international guest of theatre practice, this year to the Czech author, playwright and translator Radka Denemarková.
